Most tactics used in this satellite tournament involves how you deal with stacks or the amount of chips in front of you. In most cases, bigger stacks attack smaller stacks. To win the game, you must avoid having the smallest stacks in the next few rounds. Try to have a medium-sized stack so that your opponents will not try to eliminate you. If you can collect a fair size of stack, you can withstand the game without being challenged more frequently. To outwit your opponents, you must pressure them with blinds or forced bets. Furthermore, for you to acquire larger stacks, you must play aggressively, and don't be afraid of being challenged with large stacks.
The last but definitely not the least satellite strategy is the High Buy-in. In this tournament, most satellites have at least $500-buy-ins. These competitions can grant more WSOP packages depending on the quantity of poker players. For this kind of tournament, the typical ratio of package to entrants is 1:20. In this satellite tournament, the secret to win is not to lose your stacks at the start of the match. Aggressiveness is not enough because you must obtain an above-average stack size. It is also important not to be intimidated if you're being contested. In addition, you should not waste time, because this game ends quickly. It is a must to have an adequate stack amount before you give antes (taxes) or face large blinds.
Additional Perks and Incentives
Apart from the prize that the lucky winners of satellite tournaments can get from websites, additional incentives and bonuses also await them.
